Through valuable partnerships with companies and foundations, Corti Foundation can ensure the survival of Lacor Hospital every day and offer hope for life and the future to one of the poorest populations on the planet.
To partner with Corti Foundation is to become part of a unique story that has seen the transformation of a small medical center in the heart of the savannah into one of the largest nonprofit hospitals in Equatorial Africa.
Lacor Hospital provides care to 200,000 people a year and employment to 700 employees, making it the largest private employer in northern Uganda.
It also generates skills through health and technical education: about 600 resident students attend schools for nurses, midwives, laboratory, anesthesia and operating room technicians, and it is the site of internships for undergraduate and graduate medical and pharmacy students from the Gulu Faculty of Medicine.
Apart from the inestimable value produced by the provision of care and training, one Euro donated to Lacor produces twice the direct, indirect and induced monetary benefit (2.2 euros) to the community. This is the SROI, social return on investment, first calculated in 2013.
